General Discussion /
Presentation Day

14 April 2011, 12:51

Well, today is our scheduled presentation day for the project. We will be the first team to go with our objective being to sufficiently train the class on how to fight a fire. The process is complicated and very intense, but through demonstrations, power point slides, video, and diagrams, we can be pretty sure to succeed. It has been a learning process for the whole team considering none of us except for Christian knew how to fight a fire.

I hope tonight goes well and that Prof. S. is satisfied with our training process. It is not the easiest process and topic to train in a classroom setting considering the fact that we can't obviously start an actual fire, which is what they do at the firehouse during training sessions. We will be sure to put our greatest efforts and follow some of the principles discussed within the text.

One particular principle in the text is stimulus generalization approach that we discuss in the project paper. This principle refers to the method of transfer of training to reflect and emphasize the most important aspects of the topic when there could be a wide variety  of situations (such as fighting a fire).

Any thoughts group?
