Winifred C. Connerton, PhD, CNM, RN

I am a historian of nursing and practicing nurse-midwife.  In my clinical life I work with underserved, primarily Spanish speaking, women and their families.  In my research I examine US nurses who working in the US colonial territories of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the Philippines, to connect their work with the American imperial expansion in the early twentieth century.  I teach graduate level nursing theory and research courses.
