Learning the Ropes

I have been at Pace University for about 6 weeks now. I'm starting to become more comfortable with answering questions. With the help of my colleagues, I really feel like I have a good understanding of the academic technologies that are utilized at the university. I hope to be able to share my new knowledge with the staff, faculty and students as I continue to my learning journey here.

A New Endeavor

My journey in academia has led me in many directions. I was first a student studying vocal performance at SUNY Fredonia. While at Fredonia, I was a work study and eventually a student assistant in the Offices of Admissions and Academic Advising. As I left undergraduate school, I moved on to Mercy college to eventually receive an MS in Education. While a student at Mercy, I obtained a job in the Registrar's Office at New York Medical College. My love of working in higher education became evident to me as I flourished in the Registrar's Office, using my skills to enhance my position and taking in an immeasurable amount of knowledge. After 10 1/2 wonderful years at NYMC, I have moved on to a new endeavor at Pace University. Although very scared to make the transition to a new organization, I am finding the transition comfortable and my new co-workers extremely welcoming. I look forward to learning all that I can in my new role at a new institution and plan to post more entries as I dive in to the world of academic technology.
