Intro
Ever since I joined Legoland Discovery Center in 2013, I had grown a great understanding how to create complex LEGO creations that some people may not quite understand as well.
I started my creativity with LEGO in August 2013 when I took off work to recover from wisdom teeth surgery. I created a fully functional LEGO box that could open and close a lid that it had. This got the attention of the Master Model Builder at the time, who said he was wondering if I would be interested in training as a Model Builder when there was an opening.
Though this didn't occur until the following year, I still kept on top of free building models.
And now I am a full fledged Model Builder. In addition to helping build a few things around the center (particularly helping with people's name tags) I also teach young children how to build a specific model in a sort of improvised one act play, while giving helpful tips as well!
Take a look at what I have done. Do you notice a similarity in all of my works?
LEGO Box with Lid
This is the LEGO Box I built in August 2013 while I was on a sabbatical from work.
The lid opens all the way up!
This caught the attention of the Model Builders and got me my occupation now. I have changed out the pieces constantly and build on it constantly. It holds my minifigures for trading!
The Other LEGO Boxes
Yes, I built more! Two more to be exact! The middle one is my alternate box and the left one is what I gave my parents as their 30th anniversary gift!
The John Downey Drama Arts Theatre
This is a custom drama theatre that I made right before taking the position as model builder.
It is named after my deceased friend John Downey, who died in November 2010.
Memento To My Uncle
A plaque to my Maternal Great Uncle Paul, who died in late September 2014. I gave the plaque to his son and the son's wife.
Custom Micromanagers!
These are a few of the micromanagers I made for The LEGO Movie event. I also made one for myself: a civilian curator version for the drama theatre!
