Lesson on relating Money and Decimals
I like to create visuals for almost all lessons (especially math). For this lesson I created a poster with velcro and decimal place value for the students to manipulate through out the lesson.

Using Cheez-Its to find area
This activity required students to use Cheeze-It crackers in order to find the area of various quadrilaterals. The packets were differentiated based upon ability (i.e. some students created quadrilaterals and some students were asked to put cheez-its into a quadrilateral and then find the area).

Visual Strategies
I always encourage my students to take more than one route to solve a problem. Fo the students who were struggling with the traditional steps for adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, I helped them apply this visual strategy. First I gave them this "cheat sheet", then they gradually memorized the strategy on their own.

Finding Multiples
While other students worked on Pearson Envisions common core aligned worksheets on finding multiples, many of my students with multiple disabilities practiced finding multiples by skip counting using models. I always ensure ALL students reach common core required skills.
