My Reflection On E-Portfolio

As a transfer student to Pace University and first-time hearing about E-portifolo, I had no idea on where to start. The moment we were given the assignment to create our E-portfolio, I didn’t know what to do. Panic or Scream! I did neither.

I browsed around this interesting platform. I must admit I did it finding it confusing and frustrating when creating pages and uploading documents. Soon enough I was able to manage and created different pages of my works.

Once I began to upload all of my works, it kinda hit me a bit. I would small smile while uploading my works . Reading my past writings and watching the videos that I’ve produced during my freshmen year shows where my true talents are and shows what I’m capable of doing in this exciting field. I created a lot of works that I should show off and be proud of. I would get small flashbacks of the difficult times of coming up with a story pitch or writing a scene for my scrip. But now that I’ve overcame those rough obstacles, I can look back and say “Yea I wrote that or Yea I shot and edited that video!”. All of this led me to win awards, be recognized amongst my peers, and to pursue a master in Media Communication and Arts at pace University.

This is my first time I have ever heard of and first time using E-Portfolio. I personally enjoyed making my own E-portfolio page. I’ve always wanted to create my own website to display my works, but I didn’t knew where or how to start.

I’m glad that our professor introduced our class E-Portfolio. I personally have a lot of visual works and writings that I’ve created during my college studies. I definitely would like to show off my works to my audience and to my future employer. Sadly, I don’t have a website to display any of my works. The only video based social media account I have is YouTube- Vimeo can be a bit pricey. If I can display my videos then how am I supposed to share or display my published writings. You know how? With E-Portfolio. You can upload, share and customize on what and how to share your creative works. I will be using this and will be adding my E-portfolio link to my resume

Overall, I’ve learned a lot about E-Portfolio and on creating my own E-Portfolio. It is a tool that will enhance our chances on getting employed and building our professional identity. Building an E-Portfolio is a fun and excellent way to give your potential employers a look of your work in your academics and workplace.

This will be very helpful for me to get hired in a Television News Station or as a video journalist at a news publication. Just like myself, My E-Portfolio is still a work in progress. As I continue to work in video production and writing, I will consistently upload my new creative works. In addition to my works, I will also create a page of my greatest achievements and awards that best showcases my skills and knowledge in this field.
