Hi Liz,

I really enjoyed reading your presentation. I liked the fact that you got into detailed decriptions of many aspects of your counseling practice. I thought the overview on CBT and DBT was great as well as highlighting the importance of treating a counseling practice as a business venture. The quality of the slides is impressive and I liked that you used a lot of images and special effects. Great job!

Hi Liz, was that an office space reference? One of my favorite movies of all time...:0) I really liked your presentation and paper, adolescence is really a unique time that deserves alot of attention, I think being on a team in your practice is going to be a great idea, and you'll be able to utilize technology to keep good communication between your staff members.

Liz, you did an excellent job describing the viewpoint of an adolescent.  I also liked how you addressed counseling as a “real business.” That is SO true. As a profession we have to think about these things and not only grow but protect the integrity of the field. Both DBT and CBT are very effective tools when working with that particular age group. I enjoyed the health information sharing approach that you took. Nice job!

Hey Liz!

First off, I loved your presentation and how it was set up! Everything was very clear and very informative. I really like how you discussed that counseling is a business and we as counselors often have to sell ourselves in a way and show potential clients as well as potential job opportunities what we believe in. I also agree that when I open my own practice it would be very beneficial to work with a group of counselors so that you do have a team behind you. I love your tech plan and think that treating adolescents would be very effective in this setting. I also like that you chose the approaches of CBT and DBT.

Hi Liz,

I really like your idea of the counselors in your practice working collaboratively together as a team to discuss treatment plans for each client. I also think your idea of having the client interview the counselor is so creative! Especially when working with adolescence, it is so important that the client and therapist mesh well. Its also great that you would want different counselors to specialize in different types of therapy. This could enhance the scope of your practice. Great job!

-Jessica
