Forensic Accounting Intern

During the summer of 2012, I was given the privilege of interning for the New York County District Attorney's Office. During my internship I worked within the Forensic Accounting/Financial Investigations bureau, where I had the opportunity of working along-side some of the most sophisticated forensic accountants in the state. There I was exposed to real cases and I learned what it is like to investigate and analyze unlawful financial transactions. This internship has helped me further develop my analytical, interpersonal and technical skills. I am truly humbled by this amazing experience and I hope to take what I’ve learned and apply it to my professional and academic career.

University 101 Peer Leader

This is a picture of me along with professors, other peer leaders and first year students at the Freshman Outdoor Field Day. My job as a University 101 Peer Leader is to help first year students with their transition from high school to college. I help them through this journey by serving as their mentor, assisting them with any questions regarding university life, and motivating them to get involved on campus through various activities.

ALPFA- Pleasantville

Fall semester of 2011, a new chapter of ALPFA was added to Pace University's Pleasantville campus. ALPFA stands for: The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting. Since then, ALPFA has been working hard to build business leaders by making ALFPA a place where students can meet and network with employers from a myriad of different companies worldwide. In April 2012, I was elected Vice president of the organization; which means that I am taking up the role of being a bridge of communication for students and employers, and committing to the responsibility of taking APLFA- Pleasantville to new levels of success.

In early September of 2011 and late August of 2012, I volunteered with my local community center: Refuge of Hope. At this event we showed our commitment and care for the community by generously donating free food and back packs containing school supplies to underprivileged families. Since then ROH has been keeping this tradition and giving beck to students in the New Rochelle community. This is a one page reaction that I wrote about the first time I volunteered and was a part of this wonderful and life changing experience.
