Alexandra Baker's portfolios
Overall Reflections
The main benefit I have gotten from ePortfolio is that it has helped me see my academic growth throughout my years at Pace University. I am currently using ePortfolio mostly as a display for various papers I have written but having them all in one place makes me realize how far I have come. I’ll be the first to admit, my papers from freshman year may not be the best but I am now a senior and I can see major improvements in my current papers. This also motivates me to work even harder so that my next papers are even better. ePortfolio also motivates me in general to try and get more involved on campus because I want to be able to put more content up for everyone to see. I want people to be able to see a different side of me than just my academic work.
My ePortfolio has also helped me see my professional growth just because of the content. Freshman year, one of my professors made us put our papers up and I didn’t understand the point of ePortfolio at all, and for two years I didn’t look at it. But now I am older, and hopefully wiser, and I understand that my employers can use this as a tool…and I’m getting to the point where I’ll soon have an employer! Now that I am closer to graduating, I want my ePortfolio to look more professional and I will be working on improving it during the coming year.
