For this assignment, students are expected to select one of the "square" activities to complete individually, and one "circle" activity to work on as a group. Each of the activities is meant to accomplish the same goal and meet the same standards in different ways. It allows students to use their strengths (ie. artistic ability, use of technology, creative writing) to complete the assignment. In addition, the activities are leveled so that lower students are able to access the same material as higher students.

This Social Studies Capstone was written for a seminar in my senior year of my undergraduate experience. this in-depth reflection is based off of a lesson on the Great Compromise taught to a fifth grade inclusion class. In this lesson, students were encouraged to compare the strengths and weaknesses of the New Jersey and Virginia Plan through a rigorous debate. Students were instructed to take on the role of their state and fight for what would be fair for them. A class discussion on the results of the compromise followed.
