Web 2.0 Applications

Google Sites, Google Docs, Google Widgets, Animoto, and Camtasia, among other Web 2.0 tools were used to create a Problem-Based Learning Unit on the Environment for 8th grade students. This was a comprehensive test of my ability to blend my technology skills, teaching knowledge, planning abilities, and sensitivities to different learning styles into one project. (My own versionof TPACK).

Off set your FootprintStudents were required to use Web 2.0 technologies to further their understanding of the environment and calculate their carbon footprint. They used Quick Writes, online quizzes (textiles, energy, and global warming), video clips from sources such as Al Gore's presentation on Global Warming, as well as text resources.  Students created a group site with their findings.
