Social Media Skills

While working at DNA Public Relations I assisted in many social media aspects for the company. I created Facebook and Twitter pages for two of our clients, Milani Cosmetics and Aphogee. I would create posts daily and promote new products for the brands, as well as update photos and press coverage for the pages. Below is an example of a post I wrote for one of our clients.

My Activities

I worked for DNA Public Relations, a PR firm in Rye, NY, for a year from September 2008 to September 2009. DNA deals mainly with cosmetic and beauty companies such as DevaCurl and Hard Candy.

I also had a Public Relations internship with FOX Television Stations over the summer of 2010. I worked with a small PR team at FOX which dealt with the 27 news stations and affiliates across the country.

Hometown Fridays Coverage

At my internship with FOX, I was assigned to pitch and obtain press coverage for a 5 week special airing on the Washington DC affiliate station called, FOX 5 Hometown Fridays. Every Friday for 5 weeks the morning show anchors for Fox 5 DC visited a small town in the area, highlighting unique aspects and local residents of the towns. I was required to pitch the Hometown Fridays special to the local news outlets in the towns in which the Fox crew was going to visit. Below are two examples of write-ups I received after pitching to these newspapers.
