Graduate Degree: Pace University 2011-2013
Through the Media and Communication Arts Program, I have learned the fundamentals of communicating in business settings through many medias. During my time there, I learned to create effective business memos, letters, emails, blogs and podcasts. I also learned how to communicate effectively across cultures, in a clear, concise, and coherent manner. The program taught me to improve my professional and practical communication skills, while learning how the media and new technology affects communication in the work place.
Additionally, I learned how to create corporate events from the brainstorming phase, through the proposal phase all the way to the actual set up, budget, and strike phase. My classes in Media and Public Relations taught me the proper format for PR Plans and Press Kits, having to design a full plan and kit for a real business, and my Media Law class taught me the ins and outs of privacy, defamation, as well as ethics in communications.
Above all, the Corporate Communications and Reputation class truly helped me in my career right now, as I learned to fully analyze and measure a local businesse's reputation and create a communications plan to improve it.
Since graduating in 2013, I have been able to be a guest lecturer for two of my former professors, as well as at Networking events held at Pace.
I truly believe that Pace University has given me every single tool for success, and I am so grateful for the amazing experience and education that I received from there!
Pace Awards
My first year of graduate school at Pace University was more than I could have asked for. Not only did I make a lot of great connections, but I won the 2012 ePortfolio contest, allowing my ePortfolio to be featured on Pace's website. I was also able to write about my successes from my first year in my "Success Story" essay, which was one of the few essays chosen to be on Pace's website, as well as featured in a short promotional video for the University.
My Success Story
Undergraduate Degree:Le Moyne College
I graduated from Le Moyne College in May of 2010 with a Degree In English Literature and a minor in Psychology. As a graduate of Le Moyne College, I feel that I received an extremely well rounded education. The core courses that were required at Le Moyne included classes in History, Philosophy, Religion, Natural and Social Sciences, as well as classes in my degree. In addition to this, I took many business related courses as I thought it would truly round out my education. My favorite classes include: Business Law, The Films of Alfred Hitchcock, Mythology Literature, Religion and Life Stories, and Major Authors: Virginia Woolf.
Paralegal Degree from Herkimer County Community College May 2011
During my college career, I worked as a Legal Assistant for a local attorney. I had, and have always enjoyed the field of Law, but was never sure if I wanted to pursue a Law degree. I decided to obtain a Paralegal degree after I graduated from Le Moyne College as I realized having a background in legal research, writing, and the law itself, would be beneficial in any field that I would eventually work in. Classes included: Real Estate Law, Torts, Legal Research and Writing, Civil Litigation and Procedure, Family Law, and Administration of Estates.
